We had a lot of fun over this last 4th of July week. We got everyone out of the construction zone and booked a 2 room hotel in Renton, WA. What a fun time! Jane had the children at the hotel during the first three days while I was at work 25 minutes away. She took the kids swimming and had lots of fun little adventures.

From the 4th on we had Grandpa and Grandma Kirk with us and we enjoyed the rest of the weekend together. We went to the zoo and dinner together. There was a lot of game planning and really enjoying resting. It was great to enjoy doing nothing.

The city of Renton had a huge 25 minutes firework display and we enjoyed the whole thing from our hotel room. It was quite a show! The children took hundreds of photos and the little ones enjoyed without all the loud booms.

We took the children on multiple indoor excursions and one they really enjoyed was at the arcade room. I couldn’t stop laughing watching Nate. He was creative enough to sit himself in between the seats, help Becky and Ben drive, and laid on the gas pedals with both feet.

One evening we just sat and passed the binoculars around and watch the sunset.

Getting a nice photo of your child is like catching a sun beam in your hand.
If you catch it, you hold onto it and don’t let it go. I still have 4 more children to catch.

This was a major highlight. I received this text from Jane while I was at work.
We were very blessed and very much enjoyed the rest and time together.
We may look to plan another get away before construction is done.
