We now have a large hole dug on the side of our house and part of our front patio is gone. The backhoe has been hard at work today and is prepping the area for our foundation to be laid.

The children, Ben, Becky, Christine, and Leah had the wonderful opportunity to watch out the window as the workman broke ground to our new house.
There were plenty of odd little things found under the ground along with multiple small issues to discuss concerning how to proceed. Communication is key. Talking thru problems allows for better solutions. The first idea isn’t always the best. There will be plenty that Mom and I will learn thru this process. Our contractor is great. He is patient and we do believe we will learn quickly about the language used in building a house. Blue prints are blue prints except when doing a remodel. There is always something that may need moved or adjusted and communication is key.
We can’t get over the excitement both in the house and around the neighborhood. We have so many people cheering us on and are excited about the Kirk’s getting a new bigger house! We are very glad that we will have the space for our neighbors and friends to come and fellowship.
